Las Vegas is set to host a groundbreaking addition to CinemaCon, the world’s largest convention for the global cinema industry. For the first time, a Monday afternoon program, titled the “CinemaCon Film Showcase,” will take place within the iconic Colosseum at Caesars Palace on April 13, 2026.

A New Showcase for Global Cinema

The inaugural showcase will feature presentations from Angel, Row K Entertainment, and StudioCanal, all of whom will present upcoming films to the global exhibition community. This new program underscores the importance of a diverse range of distribution partners to the health of the movie theatre industry.

Did You Know? Cinema United, the organization hosting CinemaCon, represents more than 31,000 movie screens in the United States and over 30,000 screens internationally.

Industry Leaders Weigh In

Michael O’Leary, President and CEO of Cinema United, emphasized the vital role these companies play, stating that movie theatres “rely upon these movies 52 weeks out of the year.” Anna Marsh, CEO of StudioCanal and Chief Content Officer of Canal+, expressed excitement about presenting their slate at The Colosseum, reaffirming StudioCanal’s commitment to films designed for the big screen.

Both Angel and Row K Entertainment echoed this sentiment. Brandon Purdie, Executive Vice President and Head of Theatrical at Angel, noted that “theatres thrive when audiences have options,” while Row K Co-Chairmen Christopher Woodrow and Raj Singh highlighted the unique power of the theatrical experience to bring audiences together.

Spotlight on Participating Studios

Angel has gained recognition for its audience-powered film selections, including successes like “Sound of Freedom” and “DAVID.” Row K Entertainment, launched in 2025, focuses on wide-release, star-driven films and currently has a 2026 slate featuring films directed by Gus Van Sant and Maude Apatow, among others. StudioCanal, Europe’s leading film and television studio, finances and distributes 200 films annually and boasts a catalogue of over 9,400 titles.

Expert Insight: The inclusion of these three companies – representing diverse approaches to film distribution and production – suggests a deliberate effort to showcase the breadth of options available to exhibitors and, to moviegoers. This could signal a strategic move to bolster confidence in the future of theatrical releases.

CinemaCon, taking place April 13-16 at Caesars Palace, continues to be a premier event for the theatrical exhibition industry, attracting over six thousand professionals. The Coca-Cola Company is the official presenting sponsor.
