The Road to Eurovision 2026
The presentation of the competing artists took place at DR Koncerthuset and was led by Erik Struve Hansen, DR’s Grand Prix Chief, and Eurovision commentator Ole Tøpholm. Among the eight contenders is Sissal, who previously represented Denmark at Eurovision 2025 with her song “Hallucination.”
The Selection Process
The Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026 will culminate in a “Superfinal” featuring the top three songs. The voting will be reset for this final stage, with the ultimate Danish entry for Eurovision 2026 determined by a combined vote of 50% public and 50% jury. Sara Bro and Alex Høgh Andersen will host this year’s national final.
Denmark’s Eurovision History
Denmark has a notable history in the Eurovision Song Contest, achieving victory three times: in 1963 with “Dansevise,” in 2000 with the Olsen Brothers’ “Fly On The Wings Of Love,” and in 2013 with Emmelie de Forest’s “Only Teardrops.” However, the country experienced its lowest result in 2002, finishing last.
