Austin Peay Golf Opens Spring Season at Palmas Del Mar Collegiate

Clarksville, Tennessee – Austin Peay State University’s men’s golf team begins its spring season this weekend, travelling to Humacao, Puerto Rico, to compete in the UNC Greensboro’s Palmas Del Mar Collegiate tournament. The three-day event, taking place Sunday through Tuesday, will be held on the Flamboyan Course at Palmas Del Mar Golf Club.

A Competitive Field

The Governors will face a challenging field of 14 teams, including Boston College, Delaware, Eastern Kentucky, Kennesaw State, Michigan, Rhode Island, Rutgers, Southern Illinois, TCU, UNC Greensboro, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Wofford. The par-72 course measures 7,122 yards.

Governors Lineup and Fall Performance

Austin Peay will be led by Patton Samuels, who posted a team-best scoring average of 70.25 during the fall season. Samuels consistently performed at a high level, recording nine rounds at even or under par and six rounds in the 60s, with counting scores in 11 of his 12 fall appearances.
