The National Council for the Promotion and Support of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Promipyme) has disbursed RD$90 million in loans to 400 entrepreneurs in Villa Altagracia, as part of a program designed to strengthen and formalize MSMEs.

Loan Distribution in Villa Altagracia

The loan distribution was led by Fabricio Gómez Mazara, Director General of Promipyme, during an event held at the municipal town hall. Villa Altagracia was selected for this initiative due to its concentration of 14% of the businesses within the San Cristóbal province.

Promipyme’s “Tu firma es tu garantía” (Your Signature is Your Guarantee) program was also highlighted. This program provides loans without requiring a guarantor, easing access to credit for entrepreneurs who traditionally face financing limitations.

The event was attended by several local officials, including Pura Casilla, the provincial governor; José Miguel Méndez, the mayor; Elizabeth Báez, the prosecuting attorney; Saulo Vega, a deputy; Keila Cruz, representing the National Institute for the Protection of Consumer Rights (Inapi); and Yohanny Bonelly, representing Minister Eduardo Sanz Lovatón.
