Born to Everett Columbus Williams, Sr. And Naomi Brock Williams, Everett Williams’s life was marked by a commitment to both professional achievement and civic engagement. He was a graduate of Carrsville High School and Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VPI), where he participated in The Corps of Cadets.
Williams dedicated years to military service as a pilot in the US Air Force, achieving the rank of Major. Following his time in the Air Force, he transitioned to a career as a mechanical engineer with Ford Tractor Co. Even after retirement, he continued to contribute his expertise as a consultant for Blue Bird Bus Company in Macon, GA.
Community Involvement and Legacy
Everett Williams was an active member of several organizations, including the Boykins-Courtland Masonic Lodge, Hunterdale Ruritan Club, and the Experimental Aviation Association (EAA). He also served on the SPSA Board and was a dedicated member of Franklin Baptist Church, where he previously served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.
Though he did not have children of his own, Williams was a significant figure in the lives of his nieces and nephews: Valerie Umphlett, Parker Darden, Richard Darden, Barry Manson, and Jennie Hodge. He was considered a father and grandfather by them and their families.

A Funeral Service with Military honours will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Wright Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Charles Qualls and Rev. Steve Gibson will be officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran’s Cemetery.
