Fougères: New Banking Bachelor’s Degree in Apprenticeship from 2026

Fougères: New Banking Bachelor’s Degree in Apprenticeship from 2026

February 15, 2026 discoverhiddenusacom Business

Fougères, in Ille-et-Vilaine, is poised to see a new educational opportunity emerge at the lycée JB Le Taillandier. The school’s pôle Formation continue and apprenticeship division will launch a Bachelor’s degree program in alternating study, focused on the role of bank-insurance advisor, beginning in the fall of 2026.

New Program Aims to Bridge Skills Gap

The program was initiated following a request from CFA Difcam, a training organization linked to the Crédit Agricole group. Agnès Baudon, the head of the establishment, expressed pride in responding to this demand, stating it aligns with efforts to bolster regional economic activity. The alternating study format is designed to allow students to remain connected to their initial educational environment while providing banking structures with committed young professionals.

Did You Know? The CFA Difcam currently supports 2200 apprentices and trainees across all banks in France each year.

Program Details and Eligibility

The Bachelor’s program is intended for students who already hold a Bac +2 degree – equivalent to a BTS qualification or two years of university study. The curriculum will prepare professionals for client-facing roles in banking, equipping them to manage individual client portfolios, provide advice on financial planning (savings, insurance, credit), cultivate client relationships across multiple channels (in-person, phone, email, video conferencing, chat) and adapt to the evolving digital landscape of the banking and insurance sectors.

The program builds on existing training in the field, with the advisor-manager program having been available since 2019 and leading to a qualification recognised by the Ministry of Labour. Coursework will be delivered primarily (80%) by instructors from CFA Difcam at Crédit Agricole facilities in Ille-et-Vilaine, with the remaining 20% provided by teachers from the lycée.

Expert Insight: The emphasis on alternating study – combining classroom learning with practical experience – suggests a strategic response to industry needs for immediately deployable talent. This model could prove effective in reducing the time-to-productivity for new hires in a competitive financial services market.

Strong Employment Prospects

The banking sector is currently experiencing recruitment demand, and the program boasts an approximate 83% employment rate for graduates. Agnès Baudon noted that the new Bachelor’s program complements the lycée’s existing Bac +3 offerings, including a license in Sales Management with a focus on Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainable development.

With only fifteen places available, the program is designed to maintain a high quality of instruction. Interested candidates can contact Carole Colas, head of the continuing education and apprenticeship division, via email at [email protected] or by phone at 02 30 03 42 80.
