Himeji 2026: Tigers Legends & Comedians Baseball Dream Match + Family Fun!

February 13, 2026 discoverhiddenusacom Sports

A unique baseball event is planned for March 21, 2026, at the Wink Baseball Stadium and surrounding areas in Himeji. The event, titled “Let’s All Play Baseball in Himeji 2026,” will feature a dream match between a team of Hanshin Tigers alumni and a team comprised of members of the Yoshimoto Entertainment comedy troupe, the “Kamigata Honkikkies.”

A Celebration of Baseball and Community

The event is organised by Sun Television and co-hosted by the City of Himeji, coinciding with the opening of the JR Handayama Peace Park Station and six months before the opening of the Yamato Industrial Arena Himeji. This suggests a deliberate effort to leverage the excitement surrounding these new infrastructure projects with a popular sporting event.

Star-Studded Lineup

The “Heat Blood! Tigers Party Selected Team,” led by former Tigers player and “World’s Stealing King” Fubumoto Toyo, will face off against the “Kamigata Honkikkies,” captained by another Tigers alum, Hoshino Shinno. A notable roster includes players such as Katsuro, Hamaguchi, Iigawa, Itoi, Kano, Iwata, Imamura, Ishizaki, and others. The Kamigata Honkikkies will feature members of the “Batteries” and Otamajakushi Nakatani.

Did You Know? The event anticipates drawing 6,000 attendees, mirroring the attendance numbers from the 2025 event.

Beyond the Diamond

The day will offer more than just the headline baseball game. A special talk show featuring Fubumoto Toyo and Itoi Yoshio is scheduled. Attendees can also participate in a baseball clinic presented by Aokimatsukazean and former player Imamura Ryota, along with interactive activities like base running and distance throwing competitions. Additional attractions include a broadcast truck experience with Sun Television, a digital stamp rally sponsored by Asahi Beverages, and a megaphone-making workshop.

Expert Insight: The combination of professional baseball alumni, comedic performers, and family-friendly activities suggests a strategy to broaden the event’s appeal beyond dedicated baseball fans, potentially fostering greater community engagement.

Rain or Shine

The event is scheduled to run from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM on March 21st, with plans for alternative programming in nearby areas should inclement weather occur. Admission to the event is free, though some activities may require a fee.
