Nebraska Extension to host webinar on causes of low pregnancy rates in young cows
Low pregnancy rates in young cows pose a significant economic challenge for cattle producers, potentially increasing herd replacement costs and impacting long-term profitability. To address this issue, Nebraska Extension is offering a specialized educational opportunity for those involved in cow-calf operations.
Addressing Reproductive Challenges in Young Cattle
Nebraska Extension will host a webinar, “Considerations of Causes of Low Pregnancy Rates in Young Cows,” on Tuesday, March 10, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Mountain time (7:30 p.m. Central). The program is designed to explore the biological and management factors that influence reproductive success in young cows.
Expert-Led Discussions
The webinar will feature presentations from a team of experts. Dr. Rick Funston, and Dr. Kacie McCarthy will discuss heifer development. Dr. Matt Spangler will focus on genetic selection. Nutritional considerations will be presented by Dr. Karla Wilke, and Dr. Brian Vander Ley and Dr. Matt Hille will address infectious diseases and infertility.
The webinar format includes a 40-minute presentation period followed by a live question-and-answer session, allowing participants to directly engage with Nebraska Extension specialists, veterinarians, and educators.
