A tribute to Magnus Uggla is coming to Halden this late summer with a unique focus on community inclusion. The event, titled “Kung for en dag Vol. 2,” will see 30 tickets distributed through a specialized initiative to ensure accessibility for all.
A Mission of Accessibility
Organizer Geir Andersen of Team Halden initiated the project to welcome individuals who typically face barriers to attending cultural events. This includes people struggling with financial hardship, chronic illnesses, or mental health challenges.
To make this possible, Andersen submitted a proposal in November to Sparebank 1 in Halden. Tom Willy Prangerød, the local bank manager for Sparebank1 ØstfoldAkershus, approved the funding for the 30 tickets.
Strategic Distribution and Community Support
The distribution of these tickets is being managed by Karin Oraug, a special advisor for Halden municipality. To maintain dignity and privacy, tickets are distributed discreetly through Nav, Frivilligsentralen, and the activity center at St. Joseph.

Oraug identifies individuals who cannot afford tickets or those who find it difficult to attend events alone. In some instances, a service professional may accompany the guest to ensure a positive experience.
the initiative extends to local “ildsjeler”—dedicated volunteers in local clubs, and associations. These individuals have received free tickets as a gesture of gratitude for their efforts within the local community.
Event Expectations and Future Outlook
The tribute is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, at the Brygga kultursal. With a capacity of 460 seats, organizers expect the venue to be completely filled.
Given the collaboration’s structure, this model could potentially be replicated for other cultural events in the region. Further partnerships between local banks and municipal advisors may emerge to increase social accessibility in future productions.
