January 29, 2026 discoverhiddenusacom News

Boston-based post-hardcore band The Saddest Landscape is set to release their first new album in over a decade, Alone With Heaven, on April 24th. The album is available through Iodine Recordings and carries the significant distinction of being one of the final projects completed with the late Steve Albini before his death in 2024.

A Final Collaboration with a Legendary Producer

The involvement of Steve Albini, a highly respected figure in the world of music production, adds considerable weight to this release. Albini co-produced Alone With Heaven alongside Jack Shirley. The album’s creation represents a poignant moment, marking one of Albini’s last contributions to the music landscape.

Did You Know? The Saddest Landscape’s previous record, Darkness Forgives, was released in 2015, marking a ten-year gap between albums.

Notable Guest Appearances

Alone With Heaven features a diverse range of collaborators, including Julien Baker, Jeremy Bolm of Touché Amoré, and Evan Weiss of Into It. Over It. These contributions suggest a broadening of the band’s sonic palette and a willingness to engage with other prominent artists in the scene.

Artistic Vision

The album’s visual presentation is also noteworthy, with artwork created by Daniel Danger, who has previously worked with The Cure and Nine Inch Nails. This collaboration indicates a commitment to a cohesive artistic vision extending beyond the music itself.

Expert Insight: The inclusion of established and respected collaborators, both in production and guest appearances, often signals a band’s desire to push creative boundaries and reach a wider audience. This approach can elevate an album’s profile and introduce the band to new listeners.

The band has already released two singles from the upcoming album: “Hexes,” which debuted in November, and the recently shared track, “From Home They Run.”
