Béziers Volley: Meet Théo Griffet, the Club’s Marketing & Communication Manager
Béziers Volley is leveraging a multi-faceted approach to team support, exemplified by the role of Théo Griffet, a 24-year-old who manages both communication and on-court coaching. As Béziers prepares to host Évreux this Saturday, Griffet’s responsibilities are central to the club’s operations.
A Dual Role for a Passionate Professional
Griffet serves as the public face of Béziers Volley, handling all aspects of the club’s visibility. This includes managing social media, the website, newsletters, ticket sales, the team shop and press and sponsor relations. He describes his role as essential to maintaining fan engagement, stating, “It’s what makes the sports hall full, makes the public come back, and makes the players ask for content.”
His duties extend beyond marketing to encompass event logistics. Griffet manages the implementation of sponsor branding, including stickers, the jumbotron, and LED displays during matches. Originally from Narbonne, Griffet brought a pre-existing passion for the sport to his current position. He played volleyball for eight years at the Narbonne club, in Nationale 2, before transitioning to a professional role in communications with the same club prior to 2020.
From Player to Administrator
Griffet’s transition into a communications role with the Ligue was a natural fit. He accepted the position immediately after being approached, following completion of a STMG baccalaureate and a BTS degree through an apprenticeship programme. He then joined Béziers-Volley as a community manager, a role that evolved into a full-time position after a successful trial period. He has been a salaried employee of the club for two and a half years.
Beyond his administrative duties, Griffet also coaches the Béziers Angels’ pre-national team for the past three seasons. The team recently achieved promotion and currently ranks within the top four in its league. Griffet notes the team’s success, stating, “It’s a promoted team that is doing well and has the level to play higher.”
As Béziers prepares to face Évreux on Saturday, February 14th, Griffet embodies a new generation of dedicated individuals invested in the growth of women’s volleyball in the region.
