Death Cab for Cutie: New Album, ANTI- Records & 2024 Tour Dates
Death Cab for Cutie is embarking on a new chapter, having signed with ANTI- Records after two decades with Atlantic Records. During their time with Atlantic, the Ben Gibbard-led band released six albums, two of which achieved platinum sales exceeding 1 million copies.
A New Musical Home
Gibbard expressed enthusiasm for the move, stating the band is “thrilled to be joining the roster at ANTI-” which already includes artists like Tom Waits, Mavis Staples, MJ Lenderman, and Fleet Foxes. He also noted their anticipation for collaborating with the ANTI- staff and sharing new music.
Upcoming Album and Tour
The band’s 11th studio album is anticipated to be released sometime this year, following 2022’s Asphalt Meadows. That album produced two songs, “Here to Forever” and “Pepper,” that reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay chart.
Death Cab for Cutie will also be touring extensively this summer. The tour is scheduled to begin on July 10 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and conclude on August 7 in Paso Robles, California. A performance at the Outside Days festival in Denver, Colorado, is planned for May 29. Tickets will be available for purchase starting January 30.
Gibbard highlighted his excitement about sharing the tour with supporting acts Japanese Breakfast, Jay Som, and Nation of Language, describing them as artists who have created some of the band’s “favorite albums in recent years.”
