A Rolling Museum Through Madrid
The event began with preparations at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales, located on Paseo de la Castellana. From there, a procession of classic cars, accompanied by the Madrid Municipal Police and city mobility agents, traversed the capital’s main thoroughfares. The route included Francisco Silvela, Alcalá, Velázquez, Diego de León, Serrano, Puerta de Alcalá, Alfonso XII, and culminated with entry into El Retiro via the Puerta del Ángel Caído.
Vehicles on Display
Among the showcased vehicles were a 1917 Hispano Suiza T16, various Ford T and A models, a 1917 Cadillac TYPE 55 Roadster, and a 1922 De Dion Bouton IS Torpedo – the latter bearing its original Madrid registration and celebrating its 103rd anniversary the following day. Other notable participants included a Delage DI 2o Serie, Chevrolet Six Master and H4 Baby Grand, a 1925 Rolls Royce 20hp Tourer, a 1913 Fiat Zero owned by the Fundación RACE, and even a 1914 Chevrolet bus operated by ALSA.
The vehicles were displayed in the Rosaleda area of El Retiro, thanks to support from Manserco. Spectators, many of whom were anticipating the event, eagerly photographed the vehicles and spoke with owners about their technical details. Participants often wore period-appropriate attire, adding to the atmosphere.
Following a two-hour exhibition, the vehicles returned to the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales for a farewell lunch and the presentation of gifts and local Madrid products. The event was made possible through sponsorships from Vermut El Chulapo, Melvin Auctions, Clásicos Lamarc, Manserco, and Flexicar.
