‘Full House’ alum Dave Coulier gives health update after back-to-back cancer diagnoses

‘Full House’ alum Dave Coulier gives health update after back-to-back cancer diagnoses

February 4, 2026 discoverhiddenusacom Entertainment

Actor Dave Coulier, best known for his role on “Full House,” has announced he is in remission after a challenging two-year battle with cancer. He shared the update on Wednesday’s “Good Morning America,” describing the experience as a “roller-coaster ride.”

A Dual Diagnosis

Coulier was diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma and, nine months later, with tongue cancer (p16 squamous carcinoma). He publicly revealed his lymphoma diagnosis in November 2024 and announced he was cancer-free in March 2025.

Did You Know? Dave Coulier lost his mother, sister and niece to cancer, and another sister also battled the disease, which he cited as a source of strength during his own treatment.

Despite the positive news, the 66-year-old actor acknowledged that the shadow of cancer remains. He stated he feels as though cancer is “always in the rearview mirror behind” him.

Finding Strength Through Support

Coulier credits his ability to maintain a positive outlook and avoid letting cancer “steal parts” of him to the support of loved ones. He specifically thanked former “Full House” co-star John Stamos and his wife, Melissa Bring, for their unwavering support during his ordeal.

Expert Insight: Facing multiple cancer diagnoses in a short period presents a unique psychological challenge. Maintaining social connections and focusing on positive coping mechanisms, as Coulier describes, are crucial for navigating such a difficult experience.

Bring, 42, previously discussed her husband’s positive attitude, noting that “you need that in order to really fight it,” while also acknowledging the difficult days he faced. Coulier himself managed to “laugh [his] way through the ordeal,” as he told Robin Roberts.

Coulier and Bring have been married since July 2014. Prior to his marriage to Bring, Coulier was married to actress Jayne Modean and also dated singer Alanis Morissette. He and Modean share a 35-year-old son, Luc.
