Juan Pablo Flores: From Viña del Mar to Pucón Coffee Shop Owner
Comedian Juan Pablo Flores has traded the stage for a new venture in the south of Chile. Following a brief appearance at the Festival de Viña in 2024, Flores stepped away from his comedy career to pursue a business opportunity in Pucón.
A Shift in Focus
Flores announced in recent weeks that he was leaving performing to open a “coffe-bar” in Pucón. On January 3rd, he officially launched @Monkeybros.pucon, a space specializing in specialty coffee and cocktails.
According to Flores, the new business is already experiencing positive growth. “We have had growth day by day. We are at the point we needed… We are super happy,” he told Las Últimas Noticias. “It’s a lot of work before and during, because many things come up at the last minute.”
Comedy on Hold
While Flores isn’t ruling out a return to comedy entirely, his career is currently on “stand-by.” He acknowledged that finding the time to perform has been challenging. “I don’t know if I’ll have the energy to do it at some point, because so far I haven’t had any time,” he stated.
Flores previously attempted a return to comedy due to public demand, but the demands of the new restaurant-style business have made it difficult to balance both commitments. He noted, “One can never say ‘never,’ but for now I am focused on this and committed.”
