Wilson Dynapwr Max+ Driver: 10K MOI & Low Spin for $499
Wilson Golf is experiencing a notable resurgence in the competitive golf equipment market. This momentum continues with the release of its new Dynapwr Max+ driver, the latest addition to the Dynapwr line, and builds upon the recent launch of new Staff Model irons. The company is demonstrating its ability to contend with established industry leaders.
A New Standard in Forgiveness
The Dynapwr Max+ driver is being touted as Wilson’s highest MOI (Moment of Inertia) driver to date, exceeding 10K g/cm2. Importantly, Wilson achieved this increase in forgiveness without increasing the weight of the clubhead – a common tactic employed by other manufacturers. Jared Guttmann, Wilson’s Manager of Advanced Golf R&D, stated that the new driver “takes all the game-changing technology featured in the Dynapwr metalwood family and steps it up yet another notch.”
Engineering the Max+
The advancements in the Dynapwr Max+ stem from a re-engineering of the PKR-360 (Peak Kinetic Response) face construction, initially featured in the 2025 Dynapwr drivers. Wilson removed 5g of weight from the face and redistributed it to the rear of the clubhead, increasing MOI. Additionally, the crown height was lowered to optimize perimeter mass and manage spin. A rounder face profile was also implemented to mitigate gear effect on off-center hits.
According to Guttmann, most drivers achieving a 10K MOI do so by increasing clubhead mass, which can reduce clubhead and ball speed. Wilson’s approach prioritized maintaining those speeds while simultaneously achieving high forgiveness.
Driver Specifications
What it is: A high-MOI driver designed for maximum forgiveness with a modern player’s profile. It features a flippable weight for draw/neutral settings and a six-way adjustable hosel.
Who it’s for: Golfers seeking a highly forgiving driver with a traditional profile, suitable for a range of swing speeds, and without excessive spin.
The Dynapwr Max+ also incorporates advanced topology optimization to refine the driver’s sound through optimized shaping and internal ribbing.
Availability and Cost
Pre-orders for the Wilson Dynapwr Max+ Driver began on January 29 and the driver will be available at retail locations on February 12. The driver is priced at $499.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is MOI and why is it important?
MOI, or Moment of Inertia, is a measure of a clubhead’s resistance to twisting on off-center hits. A higher MOI generally translates to more forgiveness and stability.
What is PKR-360?
PKR-360 (Peak Kinetic Response) is a face construction technology used in Wilson’s Dynapwr drivers, designed to optimize energy transfer at impact.
Does the Dynapwr Max+ offer adjustability?
Yes, the Dynapwr Max+ features a flippable weight in the rear for draw/neutral settings and a six-way adjustable hosel.
As Wilson continues to innovate, will this driver help them further solidify their position in the competitive golf equipment landscape?
